Yoga Day
At ILA, we celebrated International Yoga Day with our young students! The excitement was palpable as they gathered in the multipurpose hall, eager to embark on a journey of movement, breathing and fun.
The session began with simple asanas (postures) tailored to their age group, like ‘Tree Pose’ (Vrukshasana) and ‘Downward-Facing Dog’ (Adho mukha shwanasana). The children beamed and wobbled, trying to balance like little trees. They then moved on to ‘Cobra Pose'(Bhujangasana), stretching their tiny bodies like little snakes.
Next, they explored yoga breathing exercises, inhaling deeply and exhaling with a collective ‘Om’. The sound and aura resonated through entire hall, filling the air with a sense of calm and unity.
As we concluded the session, the children settled into a peaceful ‘Shavasana’ (relaxation pose), their eyes closed, and their faces were serene. It was a heartwarming sight to see our young yogis embracing the essence of yoga: balance, flexibility, and inner peace.
It was a wonderful way to celebrate Yoga Day! The practice of yoga has made them grow into strong, mindful, and compassionate individuals.
